From 20 to 22 September within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU in Pamplona, Spain, the 96th meeting of the Management Board of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency – Frontex is held. Chief Commissioner Anton Zlatanov – Director of the Border Police Directorate took part in the meeting as a member of the Management Board. He also held a bilateral meeting with Lars Gerdes, Deputy Executive Director of Frontex for Return and Operations.

During the meeting, the "Technical and Operational Strategy for European Integrated Border Management" was voted and unanimously adopted. The aim of the strategy is to implement the political direction provided by the EU institutions, ensuring that the policy established at EU level is effectively transposed into national integrated border management strategies.

Frontex: Record of illegal migrants

The agenda discussed issues related to illegal migration at the external borders of the European Union, operational response, priorities and common actions regarding the fight against illegal migration.

The delegates are also discussing the long-term program of work of the Frontex Agency for the period 2025 – 2027, the press center of the Ministry of Interior announced.
