A scandal broke out in Poland after the statement of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki that this country would no longer supply Ukraine with weapons. The government of this state has already stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive weapons for which contracts were previously concluded, and the opposition said that the PiS party has returned to its "stupid nationalism" for the sake of the votes of those who do not support Ukrainians.
TSN.ua collected data from Polish publications about the reaction in Poland to Morawiecki's words.
The Polish Foreign Ministry is surprised by Morawiecki's statement - media
RMF24, citing its own sources, writes that "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland is surprised by the statement of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki that Poland is no longer transferring weapons to Ukraine." Journalists assume that the politician did not coordinate his words with the official position.
"Foreign Ministry employees are waiting for instructions from Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, who is with a delegation to the United States. For now, however, they are trying to explain Prime Minister Morawiecki's statement. They claim that his statement is a reaction to "a number of absolutely unacceptable gestures from the Ukrainian side," Polish journalists write.
Even if there are empty warehouses in Poland, why does he say this - Sikorsky
Polish opposition leader and MEP Radoslaw Sikorski sharply criticized the ruling PiS party and Morawiecki on RMF radio over his scandalous statement.

"Putin hears this and gets hope that he can win the war. Even if that were true, even if it turned out that we already have almost empty syllables, why the hell is he saying that? Because they are competing for votes with the Confederation, for anti-Ukrainian votes. They have returned to their stupid nationalism, which can cost Poland dearly, because the only winner in this situation will be Putin," he said.
The oppositionist notes that Russia has already begun to praise the Polish authorities for the conflict with Ukraine.
"They are already praising them, and already Putin's spokeswoman Zakharova is praising President Duda, saying that she has never agreed with him as much as that Ukraine is a sinking country. Who does it serve?" the MEP asked rhetorically.
Radosław Sikorski supported the Ukraine, who "is fighting for his life and stressed that he is ashamed of Morawiecki's words."
Will Poland supply Ukraine with weapons - the official answer of the government spokesman
Government spokesman Piotr Müller said in an interview with PAP that now "Poland is only carrying out previously agreed deliveries of ammunition and weapons, including those arising from signed contracts with Ukraine."
"In the context of issues related to arms supplies, I would like to inform you that. Including within the framework of signed contracts with Ukraine. Including the largest foreign contract signed by the Polish defense industry since 1989 - for the supply of the Krab armato howitzer," the spokesman said.
He was also outraged by "undiplomatic gestures and statements on the part of Ukraine."
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland is no longer transferring any weapons to Ukraine, as it is actively arming itself.
