The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct defense in the east and south of Ukraine, an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and offensive operations in the Bakhmut direction. The defense forces are destroying the enemy, liberating the temporarily occupied territories step by step, and gaining a foothold on the achieved frontiers.

During the past day, 35 combat clashes took place. The enemy launched 22 missile and 57 air strikes, carried out 55 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas.

The Russian occupiers continue to ignore international humanitarian law, shelling not only the positions of Ukrainian troops, but also the civilian infrastructure of settlements, terrorizing civilians, the report emphasizes.

Over the past day, September 18, the Russian Federation launched another attack on Ukraine with air-launched cruise missiles and Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Air defense destroyed all 17 cruise missiles and 18 out of 24 Shahed drones of the enemy. As a result of such terrorist actions of the Kremlin, there are wounded among the civilian population, residential buildings were destroyed and civilian infrastructure was damaged.

Airstrikes were carried out in Berestove, Kopanky, Shyikivka of the Kharkiv oblast; Bilohorivka, Luhansk Oblast; Novosadove, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Vuhledar, Staromayorske of the Donetsk Oblast; Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne of the Zaporizhia Oblast; Vesele, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka of the Kherson Oblast.

More than 70 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts came under artillery fire.

The situation at the front

In the area of responsibility of the "North" Joint Task Force in the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy continues to hold a group of troops covering the state border. It conducts active sabotage activities in the border areas in order to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening areas, increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Joint Task Force in the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region. The enemy tried to restore the lost position in the area of Andriivka, Donetsk oblast, but was unsuccessful. The defense forces continue assault operations in the area south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflict significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, and gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavriya Joint Task Force in the Maryinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Maryinka area of the Donetsk oblast. Here, during the past day, the enemy made more than 10 unsuccessful attempts to displace our units from their positions. At the same time, in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the Defense Forces are holding the initiative, putting pressure on the enemy and regaining our land step by step.

In the Melitopol direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast, trying to restore lost positions. The defense forces continue to hold the line on the occupied frontiers, inflict losses on the occupying forces in manpower and equipment, and exhaust the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the Joint Task Force "Odesa", the defense forces are conducting a counter-battery fight, destroying supply depots and inflicting a successful defeat on the enemy's rear.

The Kremlin continues to send military personnel from the territorial constituent entities of the Russian Federation to the temporarily occupied territories of our country. Thus, on September 15 this year, about 100 conscripts from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic of the Russian Federation arrived in the temporarily occupied city of Dzhankoi of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, at the local military airfield, to strengthen the protection and defense of this facility.

Over the past day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 9 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Units of missile forces hit 2 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19 artillery, and 1 enemy control point.

Recall that on September 18, the Ministry of Defense confirmed the liberation of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. It is known that since the beginning of the counteroffensive in the Bakhmut area, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 51 square meters. Km.
