On September 18, Russian troops attacked the positions of Ukrainian fighters, trying to regain their lost positions in the area of Andriivka, Robotyne and Klishchiivka.

Andrii Kovalev, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of the United News telethon on September 19.

The situation in the Bakhmut direction

Ukrainian troops continue their assault operations south of Bakhmum, inflicting losses on the invaders in manpower and equipment. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are entrenched there on the achieved frontiers.

"In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region. The enemy tried to restore the lost position in the Andriivka area of the Donetsk oblast. It was unsuccessful," Kovalev said.

The situation in the Melitopol direction

Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the line on the occupied frontiers, inflict losses on the Russians in manpower and equipment, and exhaust enemy troops.

"In the Melitopol direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, trying to restore the lost position," the spokesman of the General Staff informed.

What's happening in the Marinka direction

In the Maryinka direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the offensive of the Russian occupiers. The enemy carried out offensive operations in the area of Maryinka in Donetsk oblast, but was unsuccessful. During the day, the invaders made about 10 unsuccessful attempts to oust Ukrainian units from their positions.

What about the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk fronts

In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, Ukrainian troops continue to hold the initiative. The defense forces are putting pressure on Russian troops and regaining territories step by step. During the day on September 18, 35 combat clashes took place in these directions.

Recall that on the eve of Ukrainian, soldier Sviatoslav reported that Russian troops were forming assault groups, trying to recapture Klishchiivka, liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
