In Finland, the trial of digital passports has begun.

They can be used at Helsinki airport for some flights to the UK.

Passengers must have a mobile app removed. Before the flight, they must register at a police station, where a digital copy of their passport is prepared. A facial recognition photo is also taken.

At the airport, passengers only need to scan their closed passport and wait for the result of facial recognition.

These are the world's first digital passports. If they prove effective, queues at airports will decrease significantly. According to the Finnish authorities, the security of international flights will also be increased.
