Moscow is trying to keep the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, in power, they are not yet ready for his sudden death.
This was stated by the head of the Chechen movement "United Force" Dzhambulat Suleymanov in an interview with Radio NV.
According to him, despite the Kremlin's plans, the Russian authorities would like to appoint their own governor in Chechnya.
"Yes, we can say that today Kadyrov could be eliminated in this way. But perhaps now is not the time to eliminate it. I now have a double impression of what is happening. I said that it would be the next one according to the scheme that the Russian authorities are building. But is it profitable for them to eliminate it right now? I'm not sure about that," Suleymanov said.
He suggests that perhaps the time has not yet come to eliminate it. Moscow fears an abrupt change of leader.
"We all know that Kadyrov has been ill for a long time. It could have been, so to speak, the protracted act of slowly eliminating him, or it could have been that he was sick. Today they are trying to somehow keep him in the system for some time, until another scheme for building power in Chechnya is prepared," the statement said.
What is known about Kadyrov's condition
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov could have been helped "sick" by Russian special services.
The deterioration of the health of the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, may be associated with his poisoning.
If the rule of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is destabilized due to health problems, Putin will probably not be able to maintain stability in the republic.
