Joe Biden (Joseph Robin Biden) is an American politician.Joe Biden was born on November 20, 1942 in saying that five U.S. citizens detained in Iran were "finally coming home" after the two sides agreed on their release.
In a statement, Biden thanked the governments of Qatar, Oman, Switzerland and South Korea for their help. "I especially thank the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Sultan of Oman, Haissam bin Tariq, who helped reach this agreement against the backdrop of many months of difficult and principled American diplomacy," he said.
U.S. officials welcomed the five released Americans at Doha International Airport, where they were transported by Qatari plane, an eyewitness said.

Shortly after, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said he had spoken on the phone to the Americans released from Iran. He had the conversation with them upon their arrival in Doha. Blinken said that conversation was emotional.
"You really feel good when you can say that our countrymen are already at large," Blinken told reporters in New York after a phone call he had with the released Americans.
The secretary of state again defended the agreement struck with Iran for the release of prisoners in exchange for the release of Iranian prisoners from American prisons and the transfer of $6 billion in Iranian funds frozen in South Korea.
Blinken described Biden's decision on this exchange as difficult. Asked whether the exchange could lead to broader discussions with Iran, for example about its nuclear program, Blinken said he did not expect it, or at least not on the sidelines of the annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Blink described the detention in Iran of the Americans released today as unjustified and stressed that the commitments to release the Americans have always been different from those related to discussions on Iran's nuclear program.
