Russian troops, apparently, have problems with air defense in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

This is evidenced by the strike of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the S-400 Triumph complex, analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said.

The Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy were able to carry out an operation, during which the S-400 "Triumph" complex of the Russian Armed Forces was destroyed near Yevpatoria. The radar and antennas of the system were hit with the help of a UAV. After that, the launchers were destroyed by Neptune missiles.

Analysts said that at the site of the explosion near Yevpatoria, judging by geolocation data, the Russian Armed Forces did place an S-400 battery.

Experts believe that this strike indicates that the Russian troops were not ready to intercept missiles with their air defense systems.

Recall that on September 14, near Yevpatoria, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Navy carried out a successful special operation, destroying the expensive Triumph air defense system, which belonged to the occupiers. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the S-400 Triumph air defense system worth $1.2 billion was hit.

What is the S-400 complex

The S-400 Triumph is a Russian surface-to-air missile system that can hit targets at medium and long ranges. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are actively using this air defense system during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
