President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Russia's war against Ukraine may end in 2023, but under certain conditions.

He said this in an interview with the Portuguese TV channel RTP.

The President of Ukraine believes that the end of the war in 2023 depends on the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front.

"The war may end this year. It all depends on a few components. If we have advances on the battlefield, we put pressure on them and completely break their morale, then we may not fully imagine what will happen. The example of Kherson showed how they withdrew 40 thousand people. They ran fast, rapidly, abandoned equipment," the president said.

He stressed that after such events, the world should be on the side of Ukraine and support the "peace formula". At the same time, Zelenskyy explained that there are a number of factors that will affect the situation at the front.

"It may be next year as well: a slowdown in processes at the front, blackouts in Ukraine. Every such thing kills the possibilities of a political settlement of the war. Because winter is approaching again, Russia can do so, and such steps can change the situation entirely. Then Russia will constantly be in the process of receiving various answers from Ukraine," the president said.

To recap, Zelensky answered whether he would run for a second term if the elections were held during the war.
