A MEETING of ministers of justice and retired and incumbent lawyers has brought together various leaders today in Dar es Salaam for the discussion of the new constitution and the Tanzania Constitution Education Strategy 28 for the public (MTEKU 1977/2023).

Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs Ndumbaro said more than 50 percent of the population does not know the country's constitution, and said they have a responsibility to continue to educate the people on the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania.

This was also said at a meeting of the ministers of justice and retired and incumbent lawyers held on August 28 in Dar es Salaam, and provided an explanation to some of the people who are demanding a new constitution as they have formed a committee that will carry out the process of a new constitution.

Retired minister Mary Nagu said citizens should know the constitution in full including the 1977 constitution and know what has gone down and what has gone beyond if they make changes to the new constitution and whether there are changes to be made and not always bring in a new constitution.
