French President Emmanuel Macron has said he is ready to hold talks with Russian dictator Putin when "it has been useful."

Macron said that during a conversation with the dictator, he would talk about security issues in Europe.
"NATO and the European Union are part of a broader negotiation process. In the end, we will have to rebuild the geopolitical architecture of Europe. This is what I spoke for in a conversation with Vladimir Putin," Macron said.
Asked if he had cut ties with the Russian dictator, Macron replied that "I will talk to him again when it is useful."
