In Ivano-Frankivsk region, birthday celebrations ended in showdowns. The woman first hit her husband's wine glass and then cut her mother-in-law.

This is stated in the verdict of the Halych district court of Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The incident occurred in May 2023. Then the family celebrated their son's birthday. During this, a conflict arose between the spouses and the woman broke a glass of wine on her husband's head. Her mother-in-law stepped in for her son. Because of this, women began to quarrel.

Then the mother-in-law began to threaten the woman that she would call her mother and the police. The daughter-in-law ran after her and cut the victim with a knife. The mother-in-law was diagnosed with serious injuries.

At the trial, the suspect admitted guilt and repented. She said that she and the victim had long been in conflict. Then she attacked her mother-in-law, because she wanted to call her sick mother.

The mother-in-law said that she and her daughter-in-law had already reconciled, had no complaints against her. She asked not to punish her relative.

The court found the woman guilty, sentencing her to 2 years and 6 months in prison. However, the judge replaced this period with one year of probation.

Recall that in Prykarpattia, the mother-in-law beat her daughter-in-law with a stick, because she did not allow her to live with her grandchildren.
