Thousands of households in Poland were left without power on Monday after heavy storms and heavy rains over the weekend, local authorities said.
In the Podlaskie Voivodeship, which is in the northeastern tip of Poland, 7500,5000 homes were without power today, according to electricity supplier PGE. In the neighbouring Warmian-Masurian voivodship, households "in the dark" are about <>,<>.
Overall, devastating storms have affected all parts of the country, DPA said. Fire departments reported a total of about 2500,<> actions. As a result of the deteriorating weather conditions, two people were injured.
A tree that fell on a car injured a man in Wrocław, and in Giżycko (in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) a broken branch wounded another person.

In the south, in the Giant Mountains (Karkonoše), a camp with about 200 scouts near Szklarska Poręba has been evacuated, Polish news agency PAP reported, citing official information.
At the same time, the predicted hurricane storm in the capital Warsaw turned out to be light rain. Nevertheless, weather forecasts for hurricane storms remain relevant today for the Baltic coast of Poland.
