Russia is targeting the historical part of Odesa because its terrorist attacks are different from those on other Ukrainian cities.
This was stated on Radio NV by representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andriy Yusov.
"The situation with Odesa is somewhat different from similar terrorist attacks in other cities, because we are talking about targeted missile strikes and the destruction of architectural monuments that are part of the UNESCO heritage," Yusov said.
He noted that Russian terrorist attacks on the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa are not an accident and not just a hit, but targeted strikes. Yusov said that the Chief Intelligence Directorate has evidence that Russia is deliberately launching such strikes.
Since withdrawing from the grain deal, Russia has attacked southern Ukraine, including Odesa region, almost every night.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that in the Odessa diocese of the UOC-MP disowned the Russian Orthodox Church and Patriarch Kirill because of his "terrible position" on the war against Ukraine.
In addition, we previously reported that the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, who "blesses" the occupiers to kill Ukrainians, said that the UOC-MP headed by Metropolitan Onufriy is an integral part of the Russian Orthodox Church.
