The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to advance on two frontlines. Ukrainian defenders are making gains near Bakhmut in Donetsk region and Zaporizhia region.

This was announced on the air of a telethon by Spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Kovalev.

According to him, the Ukrainian military continue to put pressure on the occupying army in the Melitopol, Berdyansk and Bakhmut directions. In addition, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Defense Forces are successful at two sites near the town of Orikhiv.

"In the directions Novodanylivka - Shiroka Balka, Novotokmachka - Novopokrovka were successful, they are fixed on the achieved lines. They inflict artillery fire on the identified enemy targets, carry out counterbattery measures," Kovalev said.

The Ukrainian army is also advancing north and south of Bakhmut. On the southern flank, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have had partial success and are consolidating their positions, the spokesman of the General Staff said.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the offensive of the occupiers in the Kupiansk, Liman, Avdiivka and Mariinsky directions. Russian troops are trying to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are amassing reserves, but the Defense Forces are repelling attacks by the Russian army.

The situation at the front

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a summary on July 13 that the occupiers inflicted 60 air strikes on Ukraine per day. The Russian army focuses its main efforts on the Kupiansk, Liman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariinsky directions, heavy fighting continues. During the day there were more than 35 clashes.

In its new report, ISW named the areas where the Armed Forces are advancing. It is noted that over the past day, July 12, Ukrainian troops continued counteroffensive operations in at least three directions and achieved success in some areas.

Spokesman of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction Valerii Shershen said that in one of the directions of the counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine completely seized the initiative and "mowed down" the occupiers. Thus, partial success along the front line has Ukrainian troops in the Berdyansk direction.

In addition, military expert Oleksandr Musiyenko spoke about what is happening in Bakhmut. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied the dominant heights around the city. In particular, they keep under fire control the entrances, exits and movements of the enemy.
