Parliament adopted at first reading the 2023 State Social Security (SSS) Budget Bill with 118 votes in favour, 34 against and 64 abstentions.

The draft budget of the SSS was supported by GERB-UDF and "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB).

MPs will discuss the budgets of the SSS and the NHIF at first reading

"BSP for Bulgaria" and "There is such a people" voted "against", while "Vazrazhdane" and MRF abstained.

At the beginning of the debate, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivanka Shalapatova commented that the proposed project presents a realistic framework for financing the state social security in 2023.

The budget provides for an increase from August 1 of the minimum insurable income for self-employed persons and farmers and tobacco producers from BGN 710 to BGN 780, from July 1, 2023. Swiss rule.

The minimum amount of the retirement pension is also increased by 12% from BGN 467 to BGN 523.04. The benefits for raising a child up to 2 years of age and a child up to 8 years of age, raised by the father or adoptive parent, is raised to BGN 780 as of January 1, 2023.
