This was announced on the air of the telethon by the speaker of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction Valerii Shershen, Ukrinform reports.

"The super-hot direction, if we talk about defense, is Avdiivka. There, the enemy continues assault operations with the task of capturing Marinka and capturing Avdiivka. The assaults were repulsed, no loss of positions was allowed," he said.

Shershen added that 15 assaults had taken place in the Marinka area last day. The enemy carried out 10 strikes with kamikaze drones, mostly using UAVs of the quadro type.

"The most annoying thing was in the area of Avdiivka. In addition, during one of the attacks, the enemy used an aircraft to support it. 10 surrounding settlements were shelled," Shershen added.

"Heavy fighting continues, our strike units have a certain advancement, are fixed on their laurels, carry out demining, aerial reconnaissance of the area continues and inflict artillery fire on detected enemy targets," the spokesman said.

Situation in Avdiivka direction

According to American analysts, in the area of Marinka, the enemy managed to move forward. The General Staff does not confirm these data. Analysts note that the occupiers continue to carry out unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Bakhmut and Ivanovske, but Ukrainian defenders are holding the defense.

According to some reports, enemy attention is now focused on the T0504 Chasiv Yar-Bakhmut and O0506 Khromovo-Bakhmut highways, but fierce fighting is still ongoing on the outskirts of Bakhmut.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning report of July 2 also commented on the situation on the front line. According to the command, in the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. He carried out artillery shelling of more than 10 settlements. In particular, Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske of Donetsk region came under fire

According to British intelligence, the offensive in the area of Avdiivka is carried out mainly by the "1st DPR Army Corps".

The head of the Avdiivka military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, spoke about the plans of the Russian military to wipe out the city with missile strikes.
