The Netherlands plans to start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters in the near future.
This was announced by Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren on her Twitter page.
"I have just informed the House of Representatives of the new support for Ukraine. We will start training F-16 within a few months," the minister said.
She also said that the Dutch authorities are working together with their international partners to create a training center for Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft.
"We will also continue to strengthen Ukrainian air defense," Ollongren said.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that the spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat said that Ukraine will receive F-16 fighters from Western partners, but when this will happen — the question remains open.
In addition, we previously reported that Ukraine can receive from Western partners not only F-16 fighters, but also F-18s. We are talking about dozens of units of aircraft.
