Queues formed at checkpoints from Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia on the morning of June 10. Citizens traveling from Ukraine by bus via "Chop – Záhony" and "Uzhhorod – Vyshnie Nemetske" are asked to take into account delays in crossing the border.
This was reported by the Transcarpathian customs.
According to border guards, over the past few days in front of the checkpoints "Chop - Záhony" and "Uzhgorod - Vyshnie Nemetske" there has been an accumulation of queues of buses with tourists.
"This is primarily due to the beginning of the summer tourist season and the rest of children in camps abroad, which significantly increased the number of tourist buses to the EU countries, and an increase of 70% of regular bus transportation. Another reason is the enhanced control by the border and customs services of neighboring states of citizens, their luggage when entering the EU countries, which increases the time of passage of checkpoints on the Hungarian and Slovak sides," the message says.
In addition, citizens are asked to take into account the incomplete reconstruction of the passenger direction at the Uzhhorod – Vyshnie Nemetske checkpoint and the lack of a separate lane for buses. This, in turn, leads to their additional accumulation in front of the checkpoint, especially on weekends.
Therefore, citizens are advised when planning trips abroad by bus to take into account possible time delays before these checkpoints, especially on weekends.
We will remind, Polish farmers blocked the passage of trucks from Ukraine at one of the checkpoints.
