On June 8, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Əsadov, attended a large meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Sochi, Russia.

According to a press release from the Cabinet of Ministers to the EPA, the Prime Minister spoke at the meeting and noted the importance of President Ilham Əliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan attending a large-scale meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow at the end of last month.

A.Aidov said that the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation with partners in the Eurasian Economic Union is one of Azerbaijan's foreign policy priorities.

It has been noted that economic and commercial relations are the main vectors of relationships.

"At the end of last year, the Eurasian Economic Union of Azerbaijan increased by 31 percent to $4.7 billion. In Azerbaijan's foreign trade cycle, the Eurasian Economic Union accounted for approximately 9 percent of member countries. In January-April, the growth of the commodity cycle was 38 percent."

A.Aidov, who noted the positive dynamics of cooperation in investment with member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, briefed the participants on the favorable investment environment in our country.

"We have created all kinds of conditions for foreign investors to feel comfortable in Azerbaijan," the Prime Minister added.

A.Aidov, who has been a partner in transportation, noted that major changes in the global geological landscape have resulted in the forced re-establishment of logistics chains and streams by many countries.

"This fund increases the current state of transportation and transit gates that pass through the territory of our states. The flow of cargo with Azerbaijan is growing at a steady pace. "By the end of 2022, the increase was 75 percent. The volume of transit shipments increased by 26 percent in January-April," the Prime Minister said.

It has been noted that Azerbaijan is an important ring of east-west and North-South transportation routes.

The prime minister drew the attention of members of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union to his work on the development of Azerbaijan's transport infrastructure, saying that thousands of miles of roads and railways have been built or maintained in the country in the past 20 years.

A.Aidov said: "Today, we are investing in the creation of an enhanced network of automobiles and railways in liberated Cambodia by combining the Northern Transportation Network with the Southern and Eastern networks."

It has been noted that construction of the 2025th International Airport, which will be exploited in Azerbaijan in 9, is under way, and work is under way to increase the potential of Baku International Maritime Trade Port.

"All these measures will allow us to significantly increase Azerbaijan's transit potential in order to cope with the growing volume of cargo and ensure the continuous work of international transportation gates," A.Aidov said.

The prime minister has said that Azerbaijan will continue its serious efforts to increase relations in all directions, taking into account the broad agenda of international relations with its partners in a bilateral format.
