President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the reaction of the UN and the Red Cross to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric station. He stressed that he was shocked by the statements of international organizations.

He said this in an interview with the German edition of Bild.

Zelensky explained that he did not understand why these world structures were created. After all, they in no way helped the Ukrainians affected by the disaster.

"They're not there! Although the disaster happened so many hours ago, and they are not there. But the UN and the Red Cross must be the first to save lives. This is what these structures were created for," he said.

The President of Ukraine also noted that he was shocked by the "diplomatic" reaction to Russia's terrorist attack at the Kakhovka HPP.

"We have not received any response. I'm shocked. And if there was a reaction, it was very diplomatic," the president said.

Recall that the UN only on June 7 called the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric station "a consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine", however, they did not directly say that it was the Russian Federation that caused the tragedy. The organization argued that it "does not have access to independent information to verify how the disaster occurred."
