Shannen Doherty reveals her cancer came back 1:22

(CNN) –– Actress Shannen Doherty shared with her followers on social media the news that her breast cancer metastasized.

On Tuesday, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star posted a video on her verified Instagram account of herself receiving treatment, as tears fill her eyes. The message that accompanied the post began with "January 12, 2023."

"On January 5, my CT scan revealed metastases in my brain. Yesterday's video showed the process of fitting the mask you wear during radiation to your brain," he continued. "January 12 was the first round of radiation."

"My fear is obvious. I'm extremely claustrophobic and there's a lot going on in my life," Doherty, 52, wrote. "I am fortunate because I have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirhadi and the amazing technicians at Cedar Sinai. But that fear... The turmoil... The time of everything... This is what cancer can look like," the message concluded.

The "Charmed" star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, which went into remission two years later. In 2020, Doherty announced that her cancer had returned, had spread, and was stage 4.
