Despite leaving 12 runners on base today, Las Tunas beat Pinar del Río 12-10 and took advantage of a couple of setbacks from Santiago de Cuba, to seize the top in the LXII National Baseball Series that fulfilled its thirteenth particular subseries.

In their Julio Antonio Mella park,the Lumberjacks manufactured a crucial six-run rally in the sixth inning with just three hits; but they took good advantage of two errors, a ball and four of the 12 bases on balls that the body of picheo of the Vegueros conceded.

Right-hander Rodolfo Díaz pitched 2.2 innings with a pair of singles and earned his eighth victory, to tie that lead with Artemiseño left-hander Geonel Gutiérrez.
