Ukraine became the first non-member country to join the European Union program called "Connecting Europe" Mechanism. This programme enables Ukraine to obtain EU funding to support the development of high-performance and interconnected trans-European networks in the transport, energy and digital services sectors.

Ukraine and the EU officially signed an agreement on joining the program, during which authorized persons from both sides certified their signatures. Now Ukraine has become a full participant in the program "Mechanism "Connecting Europe".

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery, spoke about the significance of the agreement:

"Today we signed an agreement that allows us to jointly develop border infrastructure, our checkpoints, our roads, transport corridors."

This will allow Ukraine and the European Union to jointly strengthen transport infrastructure and promote efficient trade and connectivity between both regions.

In addition, the agreement also includes discussion of the development of the Lviv region. In particular, they are discussing an increase in the number of checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border and the possible opening of the airport.
