The 7th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Expo Fair kicked off today (<>th). Among them, the cultural and creative works of Guobo Yanyi are a series of cultural and creative products designed for the brand of Guobo by the young designers of Hong Kong inspired by the cultural relics in the collection of the National Museum of China.

"Hong Kong 01" interviewed Hong Kong designer Chen Xiaoyin, who drew inspiration from cultural relics to bring Guochao to the world hall, and designed the goldfish pattern of ancient cultural relics into Guochao products.

Chen Xiaoyin introduced that the Hong Kong Creative Education Association organized Hong Kong designers and the cultural and creative brand of the National Museum of China (hereinafter referred to as the National Museum) to cooperate with the cultural and creative brand Guobo Yanyi, inspiring designers to use cultural relics as inspiration to design a series of Guochao cultural and creative products, which is also a highlight of the Hong Kong Creative Center of this year's Shenzhen Cultural Fair.

It is worth noting that this batch of cultural and creative products has not only been sold in the National Expo venue and official website, but also exhibited at Milan Design Week in Italy in April this year, achieving the "double promotion" of products and cultural relics stories, and successfully allowing "Guochao" to go abroad.

According to the website of the Hong Kong Creative Education Association, Hong Kong designers have created cultural and creative products such as T-shirts, handbags, watches and other cultural and creative products inspired by cultural relics such as eagle-shaped pottery dings from the late Neolithic period, bronze rhino statues with gold and silver moires in the Western Han Dynasty, Qingqing glazed gold and gold color Haiyan River Qingzun from the Qing Dynasty, and rectangular flower pots with red goldfish patterns.

Chen Xiaoyin bluntly said that it is a "cool" thing to be able to lead "Guochao" to such a grand exhibition as Milan Design Week, and she also hopes that "Guochao" can go more and further, including entering the local market in Hong Kong in the future.

When asked if she was worried that the acceptance of "Guochao" in Hong Kong was not high, Chen Xiaoyin gave an example and still remembered the opening of the Hong Kong Palace Museum with young people wearing Chinese costumes to take photos and check in, which was very shocking, "In fact, "Guochao" is developing very well in Hong Kong, and I will not worry about no market at all, the focus is on how to use good design to transform "Guochao" into a sellable product."

Hong Kong designers: Encourage young people in Hong Kong to go to other cities

In response to Hong Kong designers coming to the Greater Bay Area to start a business, Chen Xiaoyin said that understanding that Hong Kong young people have resistance and resistance to unfamiliar places. There is a 50% chance of success and 50% of failure," she said, calling on Hong Kong young people to venture out into other cities.

Chen Xiaoyin further introduced that the industrial chain in the Greater Bay Area is already very complete, "(I) have always been designed in Hong Kong, produced in factories in the Greater Bay Area, and then sold at the Beijing National Expo." At present, she is also trying to bring the products of Hong Kong designers from Shenzhen to the entire Greater Bay Area and even further afield, and the Hong Kong Creative Education Association went to Harbin, the capital of China's northernmost province, in May this year, "the whole process is a very interesting life experience and life experience, always going out to see and building a car behind closed doors are two things."

Talking about the focus of her current life and career, Chen Xiaoyin said that due to her curiosity about the Greater Bay Area, she has "gone north" to live in Nanshan District, Shenzhen since 2012. She bluntly said that life in Shenzhen and Hong Kong is "good and the same", and the most special thing about Shenzhen is that the local citizens come from all over the world, and everyone has a different Mandarin accent. Perhaps for this reason, everyone's ability to tolerate aesthetics is many aspects and strong, "It's good to be able to have some collisions in design and conception."

In addition, Shenzhen's living environment is larger and more comfortable, which allows you to broaden your horizons. Combining her personal experience and that of other Hong Kong designers, she said that Shenzhen as a starting point to explore the entire Greater Bay Area is a good choice, and due to her increasing business, she has now become a "trilateral walk" of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Regarding the identity of "Greater Bay Area people" mentioned by He Chaoqiong, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and chairman of Shun Tak Group, during the two sessions this year, Chen Xiaoyin agreed, "If someone asks me, I will say that I am a Chinese, a Hong Kong person, and a Greater Bay Area person."

According to domestic media reports, He Chaoqiong first referred to him as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing that he was from the Greater Bay Area. (Profile picture)

Compared with the environment and development of the design service industry in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Chen Xiaoyin said that Shenzhen has a larger area and a larger population, and surrounding factories and manufacturers have various types of needs for design, taking brand design as an example, which covers many areas, including store design, product design of product lines, product display design at retail points, packaging design of each product, etc., "these needs are relatively lacking in Hong Kong".

As a result, Shenzhen is supported by a huge manufacturing sector and has more employment opportunities. She also emphasized Shenzhen's tolerance ability, saying, "Shenzhen people have the ability to appreciate different design styles, which also affects the ease of manufacturers and customer investors to try some innovative styles."

Chen Xiaoyin also encouraged more young people and even Hong Kong people of all ages to take the first step to develop in the mainland, Shenzhen and Hong Kong are separated by the Shenzhen River, close together, Zhong can shuttle back and forth, hang Hong Kong eggs and return to eat. Life is in the world, don't try to live in another place."

She said that she understands that many people may be at a loss or even resistant to the "first step", but there is a 50% chance of success after trying, and in terms of the start-up industry alone, the Hong Kong Creative Education Association is willing to provide a platform and opportunity for more Hong Kong designers to reach the audience and the larger market through the exhibition of their works. However, since the association was a non-profit organization, she also hoped for support.

In addition, a project cooperated by Chan Xiaoyin and the Hong Kong Education Bureau is also another highlight of the Hong Kong Creative Centre, the design textbook "Understanding Design from Multiple Perspectives", written and designed by herself and published by the Hong Kong Education Bureau, has been distributed by the Education Bureau to local secondary schools in Hong Kong as a visual arts design textbook to cultivate design creativity in secondary school classrooms. Design creation is a problem-solving mindset that can be applied to all walks of life and all aspects."

It is understood that the Hong Kong Creative Centre covers an area of 180 square meters and aims to showcase the high-quality design services provided by Hong Kong in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as the development advantages of creative education and creative industries. Among them, the public welfare IP "Dumbo" designed by Hong Kong designers is surprisingly linked with "Shenzhen Care Action", building a good communication bridge between Shenzhen Care Action and the public.

In addition to the "National Expo Arts" cultural and creative IP works, the Hong Kong Creative Centre also introduces the "Dumbo" trend IP image, and specially displays 11 groups of creative furniture products created by 11 mentors, comprehensively displaying lifestyle and furniture trends, showcasing high-quality creative designs of Hong Kong people, bringing unique visual cultural experience to the audience, and highlighting the development advantages of creative education and creative industries.
