Azerbaijan's Independence Day and the 100th anniversary of General Leader Heydər Əliyev are celebrated in Los Angeles.

The EPA reports that U.S. political leaders, officials from the State Department and the Los Angeles Region, chief consulates of various foreign countries, prominent scientists and cultural leaders, journalists, members of the Azerbaijani community, and leaders of friendly Turkish, Jewish, Pakistani, and other communities participated in the event.

Speaking after the performance of Azerbaijani and U.S. anthems, Ramil Qurbanov, the chief consul of Azerbaijan, reported on two very remarkable events in Azerbaijan's history, the formation of our first republic, the achievements, and the role of General Leader Heydər Əliyev in modern Azerbaijan's government. R. Gurbanov pointed out that Azerbaijan, which regained its independence in 1991, faced enormous challenges, but because of the deliberate internal and external policies of Ulu Oder Heydər Əliyev, who returned to power in 1993, our country escaped major disasters and laid the foundations for Azerbaijan's development.

Today, under the direction of President Ilham Əliyev, the chief consul of Azerbaijan, under the direction of Supreme Commander Ilham Əliyev, emphasized that our lands were liberated from invasion in 2020, historical justice was restored, and that reconstruction and construction work based on intelligent and green technologies is being carried out in those areas today. The chief consul said that Azerbaijan is ready for regional peace and has taken important steps to do so.

Later, the Los Angeles Consulate Corps congratulated all Azerbaijani people on Independence Day and the 100th anniversary of General Leader Heydər Əliyev. He described Azerbaijan's relationship with many countries around the world, including Romania and the ECHR, and emphasized its importance as a reliable partner in ensuring energy security.

The event also featured a short film about Heydər Əliyev's life and his important role in Azerbaijan's history, organized an exhibition of photographs, displayed our national clothes, performed folk songs by singer Zaka Zeynalov, and presented Azerbaijani folk dances in Laman Musayeva's performance. Visitors have been introduced to Delicious Azerbaijani cuisine and desserts, as well as to various publications. The initiative has been met with great interest
