As a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric station by Russians on June 6, there is no threat to the residents of Zaporizhzhia regarding the provision of water.

This was reported by Director of the Department of Civil Protection of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration Andriy Bulavinov at a briefing.

He said that the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP did not lead to problems with water supply in Zaporizhzhia, because the water intake is located in the upper reaches of the Dnieper.

"There is no threat to the residents of Zaporizhzhia regarding the provision of water. Water intake – in the lower butte there is near the village of Bilenke, there are about 500 people there. They have spare water tanks in case the situation worsens. The situation is under control," Bulavinov said.

He added that until June 5, the maximum water level was observed within Zaporizhzhia in both the upper and lower pools. There are water reserves.
