On Tuesday, June 6, the occupiers struck the Kherson district of Ostrov with artillery during the evacuation due to flooding. Two law enforcement officers who helped residents leave the dangerous area were wounded.

This was reported by the chairman of the Kherson regional administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

Despite the shelling, about 1.3 thousand local residents were evacuated.

"Island. This neighborhood of Kherson is under daily shelling by the Russian occupiers. Due to the blowing up of the dam of the Kakhovka HPP, another danger was added - the water element. During the day, the Island rapidly goes under water. The flooding is so colossal that in some places it is no longer possible to leave there by road," the message says.

Even in such a difficult time, the Russians decided to drive around the city.

Recall, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the world against the background of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric station. He stressed that such ecocide could not happen because of the shelling.
