Wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat, who were part of the Wrestlers' Protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, returned to their jobs on Monday. All three work in the railways. In such a situation, speculation was being made that the movement of wrestlers has ended. However, Bajrang Punia has denied this. Speaking to NDTV, Bajrang Punia has said that the movement of wrestlers will continue. They will continue to fight for justice. At the same time, Delhi Police has questioned Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh twice in this case. Sources gave this information.

Where has the investigation been done so far?
According to information received from sources, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has been questioned twice by the Delhi Police. The questioning that took place twice lasted for six hours. Delhi Police has also gone to Gonda and questioned other people about Brij Bhushan. These include Brij Bhushan's drivers, security personnel, gardeners and servants. The SIT has so far recorded statements of 2 people in the case. The statement of every person present at the time of the allegations has also been recorded. According to sources, statements of more than 137 people have been recorded so far. These include coaches, officials and wrestlers.

What was Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh asked?
According to sources, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was asked questions related to the incident mentioned in the allegations made by women wrestlers. A wrestler had alleged that on October 16, 2017, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh misbehaved at his residence in Delhi. He also tried to sexually abuse her. When asked about the allegation, Brij Bhushan said that he was in Lucknow for a camp for junior wrestlers on October 16, 2017. On October 17, 2017, he was visiting his constituency. The SIT team went to Gonda to investigate this. People were questioned there about Brij Bhushan's statements. In this way, the Delhi Police is interrogating in a systematic manner.

The wrestlers have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of misconduct abroad as well. In such a situation, the Delhi Police team has also questioned the people present during that time.

Delhi Police will file a report
regarding the statement of the minor, while in this case, different reports are coming about the statement of the minor. In the next two-three days, the Delhi Police will file a status report in the Rouse Avenue court regarding the statement of the minor. Then what is the truth about all the claims being made about the age of the minor at the time of the alleged incident?

The wrestlers have levelled allegations over the alleged incidents that took place in 2017. The investigation is taking place in 2023. It is obvious that after about 6 years, collecting evidence of the incident, recording the statement is a long process. Perhaps that is why the Delhi Police is delaying the investigation.

Bajrang
Punia has also denied any setting with Home Minister Amit Shah. "The wrestlers had a meeting with the Home Minister. In the meeting, we were told not to talk outside about the meeting. These things were told to us by the government. We have no setting with the Home Minister. The Home Minister said that the investigation is going on. Bajrang Punia said that in a day or two, the wrestlers will tell the media what their future strategy will be.


Meanwhile, the Khap Mahapanchayat has postponed the protest at Jantar Mantar on June 9. The farmer leaders had given an ultimatum at the Mahapanchayat in Kurukshetra that if Brij Bhushan was not arrested by June 9, they would resume the protest of wrestlers at Jantar Mantar. Recently, the Delhi Police removed the wrestlers from Jantar Mantar.

How long has the wrestlers' protest been going on?
On January 18, Bajrang Punia along with Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik started a sit-in at Jantar Mantar. It was alleged that WFI president Brij Bhushan Singh sexually abused women wrestlers. After the controversy escalated on 21 January, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur met the wrestlers and formed a committee, but the report of the committee has not been made public till date.

After this, on April 23, the wrestlers again sat on a sit-in at Jantar Mantar. He said the sit-in will continue till Brij Bhushan is arrested. On April 28, on the orders of the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan for molestation and POCSO Act.
