Benjamin Netanyahu walked into a bunker
Biden has publicly expressed concern about the Netanyahu government's plan to change the judiciary, which has sparked mass protests that continue weekly, even after the plan was suspended.
Amid tensions, Biden has so far denied Netanyahu the usual invitation to visit the White House after his election victory late last year.
Critics accuse Netanyahu of openly supporting Republican presidential candidates, as well as his speech to Congress in 2015 that was seen as a disregard for the Obama administration over its nuclear deal with Iran. Netanyahu says Israel's relationship with the United States is unbreakable, and downplays any rifts such as disagreements between friends.
