On Sunday, June 4, a civilian aircraft Cessna 560 Citation V crashed in the US state of Virginia. The airliner had to be intercepted by F-16 fighters, because its pilot did not respond to dispatchers' messages. He eventually fell in a mountainous area.

It informs CNN.

The plane took off from Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Tennessee and was en route to Long Island MacArthur Airport in New York City. The pilot did not get in touch. Fighters were used to intercept the board after it flew near the Capitol.

A U.S. official said the fighter jets did not shoot down the plane. However, they had to chase him at supersonic speeds, which caused a roar in the area of the US capital. To attract the pilot's attention, the F-16 used flares, but he did not react.

Sources of the publication say that the plane with four people on board flew over a planned destination for more than 500 kilometers and crashed in a sparsely populated mountainous area. This happened at 15:50 local time.

Earlier we reported that a light aircraft crashed in Switzerland. As a result of the incident, three people died.
