New Delhi: A large number of Delhiites gathered at the Yamuna Sansad on Sunday to save the Yamuna river. On this occasion, the people of Delhi formed a 22-km-long human chain for the continuity and cleanliness of the Yamuna river. Despite inclement weather, Yamuna lovers reached the ghats of ITO, Wazirabad, Kalindi Kunj, Geeta Colony, Purana Usmanpur village, Nizamuddin Bridge and DND. Leaders of all major political parties, representatives of socio-religious institutions, business organizations, transport associations, youth organizations also attended.

All of them together called for the continuation of Yamuna Parliament till the Yamuna is cleaned. The entire society of Delhi-NCR has claimed to put public pressure on the government to ensure the continuity of the river and vowed to take five such steps for themselves, which will have a great impact on the health of Yamuna.

Delhi ministers Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Leader of Opposition Rambir Singh Bidhuri, BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Somnath Bharti were among those who attended the meeting. Everyone talked about saving Yamuna by joining hands.
