The Vratsa village of Rebalkovo was left without electricity and water after the local river Malata left its bed and flooded the settlement.

"The tidal wave came around 22:30 p.m. on Saturday and was 2.5 meters high," residents of the settlement said.

During the disaster, 10 houses were flooded and a street was swept away. Most of the village is without electricity, and teams of the electricity distribution company are working to eliminate the accident.

Two pillars fell, the tidal wave knocked down trees. The plumbing has also been swept away, so the locals remain without water until the problem is resolved.

"There are no reports of injured people," said the mayor of Rebarkovo Petar Petkov, quoted by Aynnews.
