Sending Ukrainian pilots abroad for training on modern F-16 fighters will take place in several waves. The list has already been compiled. Priority is given to young pilots and those who speak English well.

This was stated by the speaker of the Air Force Command Yuriy Ihnat on the air of the telethon.

"At once, we will not be able to attract a large number. The intensity of strikes on the enemy is quite high. Pilots beat the invaders every day. We must fight here, but we must also study there. Therefore, on a rotational basis, they will be directed in waves. In the first wave there may be several dozen pilots. The first wave will have some of the best and most experienced pilots. Priority for those who speak English well. It will be necessary to study abroad, and it will be difficult there without a language," he explained.

According to Ihnat, the Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant-General Oleshchuk, has identified a list of pilots who will be the first to go abroad for training. But it is updated because pilots can die.

"Some are better prepared, some are worse. Priority goes to young people who, upon returning from school, will become mentors for their younger colleagues. In a few waves this will be done. As aircraft are delivered to us, engineers and combat control officers will also be trained," the spokesman added.

"Fighter coalitions" for Ukraine

Partner countries have created a "coalition of fighter jets". It currently includes eight countries: the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Portugal and France. But as underlined in the OP, this list of states will expand.

We are talking not only about modern F-16 fighters, but also about other models of combat aircraft. It is not known which ones.
