The Telangana elections and the general elections are not far away. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu met BJP president J P Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi today to discuss the alliance ahead of the polls. Sources said that there may be an alliance between BJP and TDP for the Telangana Assembly elections due this year.

The TDP was part of the NDA in 2014 but quit the ruling alliance in March 2019, ahead of the 2018 elections over the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh. However, after the recent municipal elections in Port Blair, the two parties came together. In his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Modi had remembered TDP founder and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao on his birth anniversary.
