In Kyiv, 1078 bomb shelters were checked. Half of them were inoperable. These shelters in the capital are not ready for use or the commission could not open them.

This was announced by Minister of Strategic Industry Alexander Kamyshin.

"I heard the results of the work of the commission for the audit of shelters in Kyiv for the 1st day of work. As of 8 am today, 1078 objects have been checked. Half of them are not working - not ready for use or the commission could not open. I perceived with disbelief that half were open and recognized as ready. When yesterday we selectively checked shelters in Obolonskyi district with our mayor, the vast majority of shelters were closed. And when we did open them, they turned out to be unsuitable for use," he said.

According to him, the team explained the high percentage of open and ready shelters on the first day by the fact that most of the tested bomb shelters are located in schools, kindergartens and hospitals. And the situation there is slightly better than in the city as a whole.

Recall that after the tragedy in Kyiv, bomb shelters are being opened, but not without scandals.

The mayor's office of the capital stressed that the decision is mandatory for all institutions and institutions.
