The founder of PMC "Wagner" Yevhen Prigozhin, whose fighters took Bakhmut, but still did not take, confirmed the information of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine about a certain advance on the outskirts of the city.

"Yes, unfortunately, there is such information that for some reason the units that were supposed to be in the gardens in which we suffered daily losses, but we held this territory, despite the fact that it was really difficult to gain a foothold there, but today there is information that observation posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already been set up there. And if that's the case, then wait for the next step," he said.
Situation in Bakhmut
At the end of April, the "Wagnerites" announced their withdrawal from Bakhmut. Units of the Russian army were supposed to take their places. Then Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported that the intensity of the occupiers' offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction had decreased significantly.
As of June 4, according to the Ministry of Defense, the situation in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, is conditionally stable. The department also stressed that Ukrainian forces control the southwestern outskirts of the city, and the "Wagnerites" have not yet left the city.
