The Gabrovo District Prosecutor's Office is working on pre-trial proceedings to establish the causes of death of a 54-year-old man from the village of Damyanovo, BTA said, citing the prosecutor's office.

On May 12, the Regional Police Department in Sevlievo received a signal about a man in a helpless state in the village of Damyanovo near Sevliev. The man was taken to Sevlievo for examination, with police saying he had a mental illness.
An alleged perpetrator of the beating was detained for 24 hours.
