In the battles for Bakhmut, the occupying army lost almost 23 thousand of its military. At this, Ukraine's losses in this direction are 7.5 times less.

This was announced by NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere.

"Since September 1, when Moscow began using convicts as mercenaries in Bakhmut, 22,816 people have died. Our losses were 7.5 times less," Danilov said, answering the question why Ukraine desperately defended Bakhmut.

Danilov added that Ukraine has no right to surrender its cities without a fight, because without resistance, the Russians would have already won.

According to the expert, the Russians have no chance to completely capture Bakhmut, despite attempts to advance, which each time end in failure.
