In Rivne, the bus driver refused the mother of the deceased Hero a reduced fare and was rude to her.

This was reported by the mother of the fallen in the war Hero Bohdan Hordiychuk, Rivne writer and journalist Liudmyla Marchuk.

"If he had just said, 'I sympathize with you, but sorry, I have all the privileged places occupied,' this post would not have existed. Whenever I heard myself in the back: "Divorced you here..." Are we, grieving widows and inconsolable mothers, divorced? Do you hear, folks?...

And the war is not over yet. Another coffins of young guys every day from the East "On the shield" are carried... More graves are dug every day and there is nowhere to bury. Another siren wakes us up every night. Children are dying. And this hamlo has already forgotten or does not know that it was our sons who went first to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and stand on the front line to death, so that we could live here peacefully, and not wait for the occupier in our home. I could not resist, I said: "I would go and fight..." But it's obviously past the ears," says the grieving mother.

According to her, other passengers of the minibus ignored the rudeness of the driver and did not make a comment to him.

"And I was hooked. Very hooked... My heart sank, and my brain stitched through a completely unpatriotic thought: "What did you give your life for, son? For this boor?" ...

What about me? I paid money for travel. But as it turned out, I decided to take a photo as a keepsake. Because this neglect concerned not only me...

I have such an incident first. However, many have observed cases of drivers insulting people of retirement age. This is wrong. This is not your own vehicle, uncle driving! Since the state has introduced a privilege into the legislative norm, then comply! You're at work.

I confess that only because of this neglect, I never travel in a minibus as a pensioner. I get my ticket only in the trolley bus.

The certificate of the mother of the deceased is still a new, recently issued benefit. It would be better not to have it. And my child was alive. But it is. It happened. And we cannot change anything.

So, forgetful or maybe just an ignorant man behind the wheel, know that there are really a lot of us! But how dare you despise me just for going into the salon and showing you my discounted ticket?

Listen. My son died in battle as a Hero. He will never get behind the wheel like you do. He will not be able to raise his son. He will not be able to support his mother either. So that's why the state introduced this privilege for you to do it. Already for the fact that you are alive and can live, work, drive a car, breathe, hug your wife, love your children – already for this. That's a lot, Believe. So be human. Be a citizen of a country that pays such a high price every day for your life. And do not dare! Hear! Don't you dare!"," the mother of the fallen Hero emotionally addressed the boorish driver.

The scandalous driver is called "on the carpet" to the authorities

According to the local publication Rivne.media, the bus driver, who was rude to the mother of the deceased soldier, is summoned to the transport and communications department of Rivne.

"There are no words in this world to apologize to such people. I have warned carriers about transportation and services, this is the second incident while I am chairman of the transport commission. How to deal with such monsters .To be continued," said city council deputy Kateryna Marchuk.

It should be noted that Liudmyla Marchuk's son, Bohdan Hordiychuk, died on January 4, 2023. He and his comrades were returning from an operation in the Kharkiv region, a few kilometers from the Russian border. Their car hit a mine. Bohdan fought in the ATO, and on the first day of the full-scale invasion he returned to the army again. He is survived by a seven-year-old son.
