President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is difficult to say how citizens will see the counteroffensive, but the main thing is that Russia sees and feels it.

The Head of State said this at a joint press conference with Estonian President Alar Karis on June 2.

"

This is not a movie, it's hard for me to say how you will see the counteroffensive. The main thing is for Russia to see it, and not only to see, but also to feel. We are especially talking about those troops who occupied our territory," Zelensky said.

He stressed that the result of the counteroffensive would be the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories.

The President added that when Ukrainian troops begin to liberate the territory of the state from Russian invaders, then citizens will understand that the counteroffensive is already taking place.

What is known about the upcoming counteroffensive

The Ukrainian military-political command has repeatedly stated that plans for a counteroffensive and its beginning are kept in strict secrecy, with which a limited circle of people is familiar. Thus, in one of the last interviews, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov did not name any specific dates for the counteroffensive, saying that it could begin "tomorrow, the day after tomorrow or in a week." Danilov noted that everything will start when commanders decide that "we can get the best result at this stage of the war."

According to experts, the Russian army has stepped up and intensified missile and drone attacks on Ukraine to weaken it ahead of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive. However, the enemy is unlikely to succeed.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are sufficiently prepared for a successful counteroffensive, according to former CIA Director General David Petraeus. He explained that Ukrainian forces are well disciplined, they have effective command and modern weapons, which the enemy does not have.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, after a recent visit to Kyiv, suggested that a counteroffensive could begin relatively soon. He also stressed that Ukraine's counteroffensive plan is "impressive," and after it begins, the Russians will face a "rough awakening."

According to the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, the decisive role in the Ukrainian counteroffensive is played by modern tanks that will provide firepower and strength.
