Such polar questions are asked by the people of Dupnitsa, where this week once again people were thirsty and unwashed for 5 days because of aridity. And their brothers in the region of Berkovitsa, where the river overflowed from the rains and the water caused damage that will not be repaired for a long time. And they joke with their miserable fate, telling the joke that it is better to be healthy and rich than sick and poor.

In Berkovitsa, people doubt that the flood happened because there was an illegal landfill in the area, which the municipality knew about and even used. No one is surprised by such a thing.

negligence of local and municipal authorities for the life and safety of Bulgarians, especially in small settlements.

Rivers and gullies are clogged with waste that people have nowhere to throw away, because in Bulgaria there is a huge problem with waste collection and disposal and it is not from today and yesterday, but for several decades now. All governments one after another fail, unfortunately, to create a good organization and solve this important issue. Municipalities are trying to clear rivers and ravines, but they always say that they do not have enough money.

And the water element does not spare anyone. The scandals surrounding the floods in Karlovo in October last year and the Bulgarians left in the lurch there, still unabated, and now the mud has engulfed Berkovitsa and the psychothrillers on the ground are serial continuing. Caretaker Interior Minister Lani warned: "If there is a similar flood as in Karlovo in another part of the country, the budget of the Interdepartmental Commission for Reconstruction and Assistance will not be enough to help everyone. The Commission's budget is insufficient for prevention."

This is the situation and how long it will be so, it is a question that has been searching for an answer for years, but it is unlikely to be there anytime soon.

At the same time, Dupnitsa protested after five days of being literally dry, due to another failure in the main water main there. People murmured against the gradual appreciation of the price of life-giving fluid and are right –

They pay dearly for a service they get in shoddy form, if they get it at all.

In this unenviable situation are not only in Dupnitsa, but in nearly 450 other settlements where people suffer due to poor management of the sector. Although the price of water in our country has risen by nearly 40% in just a year, the service for which we pay dearly is outrageously bad everywhere.

So people rightly murmur and ask where is the money promised by water companies for investment?

What happens to the money that comes from a variety of euro projects?

What is their budget money spent on?

And why the hell should they only pluck them for anything and for every whim of companies and concessionaires, and receive nothing on the other hand. But from the heart and in cellophane from false promises.
