Russia reacted to the statement of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Ukraine's accession to NATO.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Pskov said during a briefing that Ukraine's desire to join NATO shows that it is allegedly not ready to reject "existing problems" at the negotiating table.

He also reiterated that Russia will continue to wage war against Ukraine until "fulfillment of its tasks" and will seek "the fulfillment of its interests and ensuring its own security."

According to him, these goals exclude "such an expansion of the alliance and its direct approximation to our borders, in particular Ukraine's membership in NATO."

Ukraine's membership in NATO would allegedly be one of the main sources of problems for years to come, Pskov said.

In addition, he said that many countries in Europe "understand this, but the music in the NATO orchestra is ordered by the United States."

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during the summit of the European political community in Moldova said that Ukraine is ready to become a member of NATO. The country is waiting for the Alliance to be ready to receive us.

In addition, we previously reported that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO foreign ministers would discuss further steps towards Ukraine's accession to the alliance.
