In Switzerland, the National Council did not support a vote that would have allowed third countries permission to re-export weapons.

Writes about it Swiss info.

It is noted that "for" voted 75 people, and against – 98. Two other officials abstained.

"The initiative of the Committee on Security Policy was not supported and has now been removed from the agenda, because the relevant committee of another house of parliament, the Council of Cantons, has already rejected this idea in the past. The National Council discussed a simple regulation that would give permission to transfer weapons purchased from Switzerland to Ukraine," the statement reads.

Despite this, the discussion on this issue continues. Currently, some of the proposals are under consideration in parliament.

One of them, which could allow the indirect supply of military materials to Ukraine, has the best chance of approval by the Swiss authorities.

"It is said, in particular, that only Western powers and only on request could supply weapons only five years after their acquisition in Switzerland. In addition, the recipient country should not be in a state of war, unless it is defending itself, like Ukraine. Also, this target country should not harm the civilian population and human rights in general," the report says.

Recall that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time will address the parliament of neutral Switzerland.
