Georgian Prime Minister Iraqi Karibashvili welcomed Economy Minister Mikhail Cabbarov on a trip to Tbilisi.

The EPA's Tbilisi correspondent reports to the Georgian government administration that the parties have reviewed the positive dynamics of economic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan and the key aspects of strategic co-operation between the countries. It has been noted that the Prime Minister has emphasized the importance of strengthening political dialogue.

The meeting highlighted the successful joint economic projects of Georgia and Azerbaijan in global and regional important energy, transportation, and other fields and expressed preparations for closer cooperation in the future.

The meeting focused on Georgia's investment potential. It has been noted that one of the georgian government's priorities is to strengthen the country's transit function and to develop a regional logistics hub. During the discussion, the baku-Tbilisi-Gars railway project emphasized the importance of rapid construction.

The prime minister invited the Azerbaijani delegation to the Silk Road Forum, which will be held in Tbilisi this fall.

The meeting was attended by Levan Davitashvili, the first deputy prime minister of Georgia, the Minister of Economic and Sustainable Development, Zurab Pataradze, Georgia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Faiq Quliyev, an extraordinary and powerful ambassador to Georgia.
