Elin Solomonov, an Azerbaijani ambassador to Britain, said that today is an important milestone in our history and that the Azerbaijani People's Republic, founded on May 1918, 28, is the first democratic parliamentary republic in the Muslim East. He said that although it existed for a short time, the legacy of the Azerbaijani People's Republic was an important part of national identity and nationalism after the Azerbaijani Republic regained its independence in 1991.

The ambassador also touched on bilateral relations between Britain and Azerbaijan and noted that relations have expanded rapidly in all areas. He emphasized that the foundation of successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Britain was laid by The General Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydər Əliyev, and said that under the direction of President Ilham Əliyev, these ties have improved.

At the same time, the ambassador stressed that the Azerbaijani armed forces should not forget their contribution to peace and stability in the world. In particular, he and the British armed forces have said that it is necessary to remember their services in the protection of civilian infrastructure in Iraq, along with the Turkish and British military, to care for civilians in Afghanistan as the last mother.

Chris Allan, head of the Eastern European and Central Asian Department of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed that Azerbaijan and Britain have strong friendships and noted that Britain is one of the largest investors in Azerbaijan. Chris Allan said that more than 400 British-capital companies operate in Azerbaijan and that they have undertaken many green energy projects with Azerbaijani companies.

He also noted that political ties between the two countries were very close, and in February of this year, Britain's minister of state for the European region, Leo Dockert, visited Azerbaijan. In his talk, he addressed the strategic importance of the Southern Caucasus and emphasized the importance of the region to maintain security and stability in the world.
