Cape Town:

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from South Africa and Saudi Arabia and exchanged views on the global situation as well as the progress in ties. "Had a good meeting with South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor. Thank you for welcoming us to Cape Town. Reviewed the progress of our strategic partnership and agreed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our diplomatic relations in a befitting manner."

The two leaders exchanged views on issues related to BRICS, IBSA (India, Brazil and South Africa), G20 and the United Nations. Both sides have a tradition of close cooperation in all these forums. In his meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Jaishankar discussed the global situation. There was a positive discussion on the global situation. We hope to enhance bilateral cooperation through the Strategic Partnership Council," he said.
