While resting on the Visla River in the village of Romaniv, two men drowned.

This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service in Zhytomyr region.

"The men went swimming, periodically plunged headlong into the water, and later completely disappeared from sight. The children immediately rushed to save them. However, the attempts were in vain, and the adults called rescuers," the rescuers said in a post.

Until nine in the evening, rescuers tried to find men in the water, but at nightfall, search operations were suspended and continued in the morning of June 1.

Divers of the Zhytomyr Regional Communal Rescue Service on the water lifted and delivered to shore the bodies of both men, born in 1985 and 1989.

Earlier it became known that in the Vinnitsa region pdrowned a child.
