Chinese airlines avoid flying over Russian airspace when flying to and from the United States.

It is reported by Reuters.

In response to Washington's ban on Russian flights over the United States, Russia banned U.S. airlines and other foreign carriers from flying over its airspace.

Now monitoring portals show that Chinese flights, recently approved by Washington, do not fly over Russia. At the same time, previously approved flights of Chinese US airlines still use Russian airspace.

Since May, the U.S. Department of Transportation said it would allow Chinese airlines to increase the number of passenger flights to the United States. Now there should be up to 12 round-trip flights every week. This, in turn, is equal to the number of flights allowed by Beijing for American carriers.

In turn, in

refused to answer the question whether

Chinese carriers agreed to avoid Russian airspace for new flights.

"Direct flights are necessary to increase mutual visits between the Chinese and American peoples. We hope that the resumption of flights will benefit the flow of people and trade between the two countries," China said, without mentioning Russian airspace.

Recall that on May 31, the Chinese government accused the United States of "provocation" after an incident between a Chinese fighter jet and an American reconnaissance aircraft flying over the South China Sea.
