A river overflowed in the town of Berkovitsa on Thursday afternoon. The flood flooded houses, swept away streets and bridges, and residents of the flooded Rakovitsa neighborhood were evacuated.

The municipality of Berkovitsa declared a partial state of emergency for the neighborhood and the neighboring village of Barzia.

Residents told the air of "Hello, Bulgaria" that their houses are full of mud and garbage. According to them, there is an illegal landfill above the neighborhood, which is used by the municipality.

Their suspicions are that the flood happened because of him.
